Julianne Zala Presents at Ohio Wesleyan's 2017 Student Symposium

2017 May 5

Julianne Zala presented original research or creative work at Ohio Wesleyan University's 2017 Student Symposium.

The third-annual event, held April 18, allowed students to share the breadth and depth of their Ohio Wesleyan academic work, hone their professional presentation skills, and foster communication about future research projects and artistic creations.

Zala presented "The Intersections of Queerness and the Arab Jew."

Zala was mentored by Ohio Wesleyan faculty member Michal Raizen.

Undergraduate research, conducted under the mentorship of expert faculty, is a central component of The OWU Connection, Ohio Wesleyan's unique approach to student learning.

Ohio Wesleyan's curriculum works to link academic theory with real-world practice; cross academic department boundaries to support deeper, interconnected learning; and prepare students for global citizenship and leadership.
