Onyinye Okoli Presents at Ohio Wesleyan's 2016 Student Symposium

2016 May 13

Onyinye Okoli presented original work at Ohio Wesleyan University's 2016 Student Symposium.

The second-annual event, held April 20, allowed students to share the breadth and depth of their OWU academic work, hone their professional presentation skills, and foster communication about future research projects and artistic creations.

Okoli presented "Literature to Film: Madame Bovary"; "Optimizing Growth Conditions for the Study of Plant Gravity Perception on the ISS"; and "The Persistence of Scientific Racism in Azouz Begag's Béni ou le Paradis Privé." Okoli was mentored by Ohio Wesleyan faculty Ana Oancea, Chris Wolverton, and Mary Ann Lewis, respectively.

Undergraduate research, conducted under the mentorship of expert faculty, is a central component of The OWU Connection, Ohio Wesleyan's unique approach to student learning that links academic theory with real-world practice; crosses academic department boundaries to support deeper, interconnected learning; and prepares students for global citizenship and leadership.
